Retri

Using Retri with an AI assistant

Retri turns useful things you learn in chat into durable recall cards, then schedules each review when it will help most.

Connect Retri

In ChatGPT, install Retri from the Plugins Directory when its public listing is available. In Claude, Gemini CLI, or another MCP-compatible assistant, add Retri as a remote MCP server using the connection settings provided by that assistant:

https://getretri.com/mcp

Sign in to your Retri account and approve the requested access. Retri uses that connection only to manage the learning data in your account.

Create a deck

Ask your assistant to create a deck and describe how cards in that deck should be written. Guidance can specify the tone, level of detail, what belongs on each side, and any Markdown conventions.

Example: “Create a deck called Spanish B1. Put a Spanish sentence on the front, a natural English translation on the back, and bold the target phrase.”

Add consistent cards

Before adding a card, Retri gives the assistant the deck guidance and a representative sample card. This helps new cards follow the same structure and optional GitHub-flavored Markdown style as the existing deck.

Example: “Save the difference between por and para to my Spanish B1 deck.”

Review

Ask to review everything due or name a specific deck. Retri shows an interactive card, lets you type or recall the answer, and records Again, Hard, Good, or Easy to schedule the next review.

Example: “Review my due Spanish B1 cards.”

Manage your library

You can search, edit, suspend, or delete individual cards from the Retri website or through a connected assistant. Permanent deletion requires a clear request, and deleting all learning data requires explicit confirmation.

Plans

The free plan includes one active deck and up to 500 active cards. Retri Plus includes unlimited decks, cards, and review history. Manage a web subscription from your Retri account; subscriptions purchased in a mobile app are managed through the applicable app store.

Troubleshooting

If Retri asks you to sign in again, reconnect it and complete the consent screen. If a review does not open, ask the assistant to start a new Retri review. For account, connection, or billing help, visit Retri support.
